Holdwell was born after we noticed the same thing happening again and again.
Friends and family were buying compression socks for all sorts of reasons. Some wore them on long-haul flights, some for workdays spent on their feet, and others for running, recovery or managing health conditions. Despite their different reasons, they all seemed to face the same problem: finding compression socks that actually looked good.
Most of the options available felt overly clinical, overly athletic, or simply uninspiring. They often prioritised function over design, with little thought given to colour, detail or how they fit into everyday life. We felt there was room for something different.
